To check-out the current source from the SourceForge Subversion repository run:

svn co https://smtk.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/smtk/trunk/smtk-0 smtk-0

Running this will create a directory, smtk-0/, which will have all the source files to SmTk in it.

SmTk is a software toolkit for building distributed operator-in-the-loop interactive simulations. It contains a server, many programs, and C++ libraries.

SmTk is in a pre-alpha state. It's getting there. When we feel that this has reached the point where there is code and programs that many people can use and the quality is good enough, we will consider publicizing this project.

What SmTk Provides

The Simulation Toolkit (SmTk) is free software licensed under the GNU GPL.

The Simulation Toolkit (SmTk) is:

• a C++ Library application programming interface (API) that provides:
  • Distributed Shared Memory System (got part)

    We have a local shared memory class that provides:

    • queuing, time stamping, and counting of entries
    • an arena file with shared memory segment that are accessible by a name string
    • blocking and nonblocking (polling) read
    • blocking and nonblocking queue read
    • automatic and user called read-write locks
    • synchronous, asynchronous and combinations of reading and writing of shared memory

  • 2D plotter class -- interactive phase space plotter (functional)
  • Graphics Display Class (not yet)
  • Graphics Scene Graph (not yet)
• SmTk Server which reads and writes to hardware devices and provides a network interface for the Distributed Shared Memory System (not yet).
• The Game (not yet).
